Foundations aren’t known for their risk-taking – after all, explaining why a program failed or a grantee closed up shop isn’t an easy thing to do. The new J.M.K. Innovation Prize, however, is trying to change the game and make it more feasible for deserving start-up nonprofits to get early funding.
