The SS Columbia Project Event
New York, NY (April 26, 2016) The J.M. Kaplan Fund hosted an event for The SS Columbia Project in late April, during which guests heard speaker John D. Pollack, author of “Corkboat: A True Story Of The Unlikeliest Boat Ever Built” retell his experience of making a seemingly impossible dream morph into a reality. Believe it or not, Pollack constructed a boat entirely made of cork. More impressive, however, is the fact that he actually sailed it. Inspired by his words, guests spent the evening engaging in a conversation about grit, doggedness, and dedication. It was an inspiring and lively night, and we made sure to give Mr. Pollack the would-be-discarded-corks from our wine bottles.
